What is prednisone?
* PREDNISONE is a corticosteroid. It helps to reduceswelling, redness, itching, and allergic reactions and can be used totreat severe allergies, skin problems, asthma, arthritis and otherconditions. Generic prednisone tablets are available.
What is the most importantinformation I should know about prednisone?
* Do not stop taking prednisone suddenly if youhave been taking it for a few weeks. You may need a gradual reductionin dosage before you stop taking this medication.
* Take prednisone with food or milk to lessenstomach upset.
* Carry some type of medical identification thatwill let others know you are taking prednisone in the case of anemergency.
